Book on 60HP engine. Out of print. Author unknown
Several years ago someone wrote a pretty complete little book on the 60HP V8 engine. I do not know the author, however, apparently the author's son was going to do a second printing. Was this ever done. I would like to obtain a copy of that book if one is available. Can anyone help with obtaining a copy?

Richard Willim. Been no reprint. Last one I seen for sale on eBay went for over $300.

Got mine quite a while ago, before they became so scarce. Great book.

Thanks KiwinUS and flatjack9. Much appreciated. Now the hunt begins for said book.

There was a thread on the H.A.M.B. a year or two ago (or maybe more) about this book. The son of the author posted on it and said he was going to re-issue it. I haven't seen anything but you might check over there. Perhaps he has issued a limited edition.

I was lucky enough to get an autographed copy from Richard soon after it was published.

I remember as a kid growing up in Seattle, the only sports we had was hydroplane racing. No Seahawks, no Mariners etc....The unlimiteds were big time and once a year stuff, but the limiteds featured my dad's favorite, the 60 hp Ford. We could go on any weekend and see and HEAR them on Greenlake and other local venues. Today if anyone so much as smoked a cigarette within earshot of Greenlake, they'd call the EPA on em.

I knew Richard very well. He personally helped me with a engine in his garage. His son Marty has no interest in reprinting the book, and I and others have offered to buy rights to the book and that was a no-go as well. Good luck it's hard to find a copy.

Re: Book on 60HP engine. Out of print. Author unknown
Well a copyright lasts for the life of an author plus 70 years so I guess just reprinting it is out of the question. Anyone have a copy they might loan me? I sure would like to read it and glean a little information from it.
Oh, Michael, do you have bolts/nuts for the 60HP? I would presume they would be the same as 85HP. I have a Duke's mixture of bolts on this engine/transmission. I would love to have correct bolts for this project. Intake, head nuts, oil pan, transmission, etc. Even used bolts would be fine if anyone has any. And Michael, who does your cadmium plating? I'm sure I am going to have some bolts/nuts, etc plated. Thanks

I found the book to be heavy on boats and max RPM vintage speed equipment. My use would have been more about the placement in old Fords. Moved on from putting my engines in a '40. Kept the 59A that came with the car. Far easier. Good Luck: Fred A
