Default Block question

Since this car came without a number on the block, and since has been added, something on the block troubles me. I was doing a bit of cleaning and found, where the diamond would be, a letter "C".
Now since this could be a transplant I was wondering if the Model C 1933 blocks had anything like that on them?

(BTW, anyone telling the authorities *glances around suspiciously* about the stamping of numbers on the block, I will deny it. Besides, got me clear title today! )

Ps. I will rub some dirt back into that stamp tomorrow and take another pic since it can't be seen clearly in that one.

OK, here is the promised pic with the C visible, it would be nice to know if it has any significance since I really don't plan to tear it down as it does run pretty quiet. All I think I rally need to do is clean out the fuel system, which will happen as soon as I'm done driving it around and having fun with it.

Thanks for whatever info you great guys have.

We would need to see more of that engine to know what you have. A "C" (or is it part of a "0"?) in that location was probably added some time after it left the factory. I think that the diamond is usually located higher up on the block. Ford never used the letter "C" in any reference to the 1933-34 4-cylinder engine. It was officially a Model-46 version of the B-engine.

Actually, I have looked around this motor and can find no casting/mold marking at all. Now, it does have the 3¼" number pad, but that is all I can find on it to date the casting.

Not the smartest thing to be driving it around before the system is cleaned! Wayne

Ya know, the more I look at it close up, it does look like an upside down J.
