Default Wow, what a change...

I hadn't been around in awhile, life has gotten in the way but I absolutely love the new board!

Hopefully soon I will figure out where I want to start on my project and get moving on it.

Honestly, this is the type of board I was used to, believe it or not the other board was harder to use for me

Look's like Bogie's Plymouth Coupe from "High Sierra" lurking in the background...

Welcome Aboard !

It is a LOT of VERY good to work with. 2 dime sized holes is all it has in a spot hidden by the rear fenders, and the wood is in very good shape. One top bow is cracked and sagging but easily repaired I believe.

The engine turns over, but all the engine accessories were in a pile of coon poop and destroyed. I have a lead on a local guy that may have many of the parts I need just to see if it runs. After that we plan to slowly start working on the mechanical's and drive it in the patina for a little while. I'd venture a guess that it is 90% complete, I even have many of the tools and the jack.

I have it garaged now, I just need to get my jeep done and out of the way so I can pull the body and work on it.

Is that a 37 or 38 dodge coupe? I had a 37 Plymouth 4 door and sometimes I miss that old girl. Looks like you've got some great projects!

That was a 37 Chrysler Royal Coupe. That is an old picture, the Chrysler was in the carriage house that was falling down on these cars. I convinced the lady to sell the cars before they were completely crushed. The Model A was being pushed through the floor as it was. I was unable to buy the Chrysler.

This picture was after major cleaning to get to them. The table on the Model A had to be cut to get the car out. I fell through the floor in front of the Model A hooking up the strap to drag it out.

I fell through the second floor when I was going after the fenders, running boards and exhaust pipe

It was just starting to crack through the floor, the drives side rear tire was through a good sized hole. The risk was worth it

AMAZING PICTURES! My heart would have been racing finding that Model A coupe in there. I think I would have been so blinded by what I was uncovering that the roof could have fallen in on me and I would have still been digging with my leg pinned against something! I'm sure that was an exciting day!

Wow. Wish that Chrysler was available. I'm sure my wife would love me dragging home another project! haha!

There were only ~1050 of the Coupes made that year, they had to beg to get 3k out of it. They had it listed for 5k. It was more complete then the A, and came with 2 engines.

AMAZING! I didn't think anything like that was around in California anymore. Not many barns left. What part of the state are you in?

I am in Michigan, the barn was 12 miles from my house. The cars both were from California, they arrived from California sometime between 1968 and 1971. They then went into the Michigan barn, well until I drug them out in 2009.

I have not made it very far on the A so far, I know it will run I just have to get the parts. Life keeps getting in the way, well that and my Vintage Jeep habit too....
