Proper placement of Emergency Brake Band...
When viewing the Emergency Brake Band where the two attachments are for attaching the A-2628 Emergency Brake Toggle Links, you will notice that the attachments are wider from the edge of the brake band than the other side...3/8" compaired to 1/4".
This means you can put the band on the Emergency Brake Carrier Plate Assembly one of two ways. One way, will put the brake band closer to the backing plate assembly than the other way which makes the brake band slightly further away. So...Which is the correct way to install the E-Brake Band to the carrier plate? Thanks. Pluck |

Re: Proper placement of Emergency Brake Band...
Steve
There is a front side and back side of a band. If you put them on temporarily without any hardware, you will see if they are put on wrong, that the band will be on an angle compared to the carrier. Take a side view look all the way around and you will see that the exposed part of the carrier increases and decreases. If they are put on correctly, the side view look will have the exposed part of carrier the same all the way around. You will also not be able to put the drum on if the band is installed backwards. Re: Proper placement of Emergency Brake Band...
I have a set of new e-brake linings that I couldn't install, I'll have to look again with this info.
