cutout
Does anyone sell the normal original cutout or are they all going to the diode version?

Re: cutout
Why not use anoriginal. There is very little that can go wrong with them. They are plentiful in the fleas markets @$1 each. Grind the two e-weld spots off the lip and clean it up inside. circuit check it, clean the points, set the pressure if you have to and yo are good to go.

Re: cutout
Clem, I respect your comments 101%...Let me tell you my story.
Was on a tour in 1984 when I lived in Bakersfield, CA. We were about 40 miles from Bakersfield when my perfectly good (I say that because I thought it was) original cutout failed on me and burned up my generator. When we got back home, took the generator off and rebuilt it plus I revamped the original cutout by putting a diode in it. Now mind you that was in 1984, 26 years ago, and I have not had a bit of trouble with it since! (Knock on wood). Pluck |
