Here's one for all who complain about legroom in their "A's" How much seat adjustment is there in a Sport Coupe?

In a similar vein, Italian hreavyweight boxer Primo Carnera a/k/a "The Ambling Alp" a/k/a in the sporting press "the giant Italian pugilist" drove an "A." I have an image of him and his car somewhere; I'll post as soon as I can find it.

"Short" story, indeed. Thanks, Vince. That's fascinating.

I managed to find my other "giant" image. I may be wrong, but I suspect that it's from Ford's "Dealer and Service Field" publication.

It looks like a Ford but the bonnet is toooo long and it has some sort of artillery wheels {I think}. It has doors instead of louvres on the bonnet.
I try and ID all the cars in the pics. The Fords are easy but some cars are difficult......
Manuel in Oz
I think the coupe may be a '32 Pontiac or even an Oldsmobile

The model a that is in the fore ground has some great brakes! Those are defenitaly not Ford brake drums!

Mike
The brakes in #57 are Ford AA 1930 or 31.

I've oftened wondered why all the A's seemed so worn out and dirty even when near new. While looking at all these great pictures it dawned on me, it was the roads. I used to live in Mexico up to a few years ago and even new vehicles looked old and worn out because of the bad roads and even more because of how dirty the roads are. I used to carry water with me to wash my headlights off so I could see.

Right now, our cars in New England look "worn out and dirty" after about ten miles. Count your blessings, "South Florida"

On the other hand, look how sharp Richard's dad's phaeton looked after 20 years!

Thanks but much of the credit for many of the great old photos should also go to some of the others who actually may have posted them on other websites. I attempted to sort them and post within each group here on FB.

Thanks to T-Head and twin6, who have posted many, many great photos and some stories, along with many other members either here on the FB or over on the HAMB. Based on what I've seen, their photo archives are awesome!

Thanks again to all who have contributed to this and other old car sites for sharing these historical archives for all to enjoy!

Thanks. As a late comer to the Ford Barn I would have missed it, BUT not a Station Wagon in the whole bunch! :-(
