"B" head on "A" motor
Is there an advantage or reason to put a model b head on a model a motor?

Re: "B" head on "A" motor
The Model B head, the one with the letter "C" cast into the upper surface, was slightly higher compression, 4.9:1 versus 4.2:1 for the standard A head. Use of this head required the Model B three-bolt water pump along with it. A better choice would be the Model A "Police Option" head, which had the letter "B" cast into the upper surface, offered higher compression at 5.2:1 and used the stock Model A water pump.
So, the simple answer is, not much advantage, not a good choice if you have others available (like in a parts catalog). If you've got one, and the water pump to match, then yes, there's a little advantage. Fearless |

You can use it . But I think there are a couple steam holes that you need to block off
Check your head gasket against the head to find out which ones . 2 in the center I believe. John Cochran |
