what is the square end on this wrench used for?

To remove the fill plug on the differential.

the rear diff plugs as long as they are not rounded or beat up to bad

That's what I thought but the end is not really square and you can't get much torque without another wrench.

The drain plug had probably been tightened too much. I use the square end of the monkey wrench to remove my differential plugs and it works good
