Default Jumping batteries

I have started A's before without bad effects on the generator. Would there be a negative effect on an alternator?

Just be sure that the polarity is correct. What'sa matter, no hand crank, or is the battery totally dead?

Do it all the time on new cars, polarity must be correct, that's all.

Bruce: I have started my 31 that has a 6 volt alternator on two occasions with my 12 volt truck. I connected the negative to the starter and the positive to a head bolt. Everything else that has been done to keep HENRY running you have done. LOL
