Speaking of "Leg Room"
Can someone tell me how the 30-31 coupe's leg room compares to a 30-31 Closed Cab Pickup? Without the shelf behind the seat I'm thinking there has to be less room? Are the Pickup doors longer than a coupe? I want a Pickup but barely fit in my Coupe, and it's not like you can just run over to the Model A store and check one out!

Re: Speaking of "Leg Room"
In my experience, a Closed Cab Pickup has about the same amount of leg room as a Coupe that has the seat adjusted all the way forward.
I can't tell you about the door sizes, but I'm sure that someone else will chime in. Ken

This site:
http://www.motormayhem.net/wp-upload...model-a-pu.jpg Has a good collection of Model A Sales manual dimensional drawings. Both styles are represented with a bunch of interior dimensions. Click on the drawings to get them up to a usable size. |

Re: Speaking of "Leg Room"
Some room in pickup is obtained by replacing back springs with foam. Two inches back you sit lower also. You do sit a little more vertical.

Re: Speaking of "Leg Room"
Pickup doors are about 2 inches longer than Coupe doors(30-31 style). That said, Coupe has a bit more leg room.People must have been smaller back then, or are only us larger folks restoring Model A Fords.

Re: Speaking of "Leg Room"
The roadster has the least amount of room. I can get into my coup easily, the roadster kinda have to crawl into a bit at a time, I'm only 175lbs. Thin by todays standards. LOL

Re: Speaking of "Leg Room"
Funny last night I was at a friends garage fixing an antique car (NOT FORD) and my Model A was parked outside, my friend said how the heck could you get lxxd in that thing and I instantly piped up "you just open both doors"! Good chuckle for us all, from the voice of first hand experience.
