Default wheel / hub cap fitment issue

Hello guys,

My guess is I have either the wrong wheels or the wrong hub caps...
1931. The ID of the wheel where the cap will be placed is 3 3/4".
The OD of the hubcaps I have is 4 1/8". The distance from one bent tab to the one opposite is 3 1/4".

Kind of a BB in a boxcar.
So, what say you?

Thanks.

I think the larger hub caps fit the early V8

So, you believe the hole in the rim is the correct diameter?

Photos would help. The Model A hub cap can be hard to put on and require the tabs to be bent in a little. That may be the problem.

What size are the rims? 21"? 19"? 18"? 17" 16"? Or?
