Default red fan belt

Here are some images of a fan belt I dug out during the recent fan belt thread. What do you know about its date of manufacture, who its distributors were and if it was ever sold directly to Ford Motor Co.? I lightly scraped it on the inside and it revealed a lighter red similar to steering wheel red, shown in one of the images.

My Red Fan Belt is still hanging on my shelf. I bought it new in 1958 from Western Auto Store in Hayward, California. These were 'after-market' and never issued by the Ford Motor Company. I saw quite a few of these in service during the 1950's, when I first started becoming involved with the Ford Model A.

Brattons sold a red fan belt in the early ninties, It was short and a tight fit. Mine didn't last very long.

Thanks Doug. It's too flexible to suppose that it dates back to '28-'31, but I'm still wondering if its markings indicate date of manufacture, if any code still exists in archives or memory.
