A lot of the issues can be a worn shaft and/or holes they pass through in the castings, worn linkage, that sort of stuff. They need to really be gone through by someone that knows what to look for and how to repair it. Also as tubman posted, power valves can be a real issue to get to seal properly. Need to be sure everything is ethanol safe, need to know which float and valves work correctly, on and on. The idle adjusters my may be damaged from over tightening.
