Default Condenser on gas tank

I have a condenser on the sending unit of my 35.Is it something added to help with radio interference,or is it something added to help with the operation of the fuel guage?

Current pulse type systems, like the King Seeley indicating systems of that era, have a tendency to make an RF buzz that a radio receiver can pick up on. They put caps on the oil pressure senders too along with a few other items if a radio set was installed.

Thanks. That's what I figured it was, then thought it might have been an old time band-aid fix for guage problems.Kind of like using a steering stabilizer, not the right thing to do,but can help get you by for a while.
