Default 31 coupe adjustable seat

I need some help with a diagram or pictures of a 31 coupe seat adjuster. One of the guys in group can't get the seat mechanism to,work and we're not sure if we have a missing part or if it's not assembled correctly. Pictures or drawings would be awesome! Thanks!

Does it not work due to lack of oil, or is something missing or assembled wrong?

Mine just has a screw and knob, bracket on the seat frame holds knob and screw, nut is on seat riser bracket, slotted slides on seat riser, wood seat frame bolts to track---perhaps there is other version with ratchet too

Is it the late 31 ratchet type or the earlier screw type?

Pictures would be great. It's this screw type not the ratchet

The later 1931 used a different mechanism which did not have the twist knob as did the earlier vehicles. The later style had a unique handle which you lifted up and pushed back on the seat, The mechanism had notches and you pushed back until it fell into the desrired notch. I am sorry that I don't have a photo readily availableas my coupe is presently stored for the winter.

This should be on the bottom of the seat:

The screw should screw through a hole in the seat riser and pull the seat forward and backward. (photos compliments of Napa Skip)

This piece should be mounted to the crossmember in front of the seat riser

If that cage is there, but not the special nut that the screw goes through, you can just order the nut.

Bratton's has all the hardware at the link below if you don't care about original parts
