Another Loss....Steve Salazar
I search and didn't find an announcement of loosing Steve Salazar in La Verne. He was a Regular vendor at the BIG 3 in San Diego selling complete brake sets ready to bolt up with cast drums, ached lining etc. It's another great loss to our Hobby and young compared to a lot of us. He was somewhere around 60 to 61.
He will be missed. Barb Last edited by foxfire42; 02-13-2017 at 05:53 PM. |

I got to know Steve through Sammy at AZ Model A, and visited with him an his wife a couple of times.
A true gent, and as Barb says, a great loss to the hobby |

He also rebuilt rear ends, including AA.
A very nice person. I am very sorry to hear this sad news. My condolences to his family. |

Steve was a stand up Guy! He rebuilt my rear end assembly in my speedster and delivered it to my house. Excellent work. I'm very sad, my thoughts go to his family.

Re: Another Loss....Steve Salazar
Holey crap what a shock! I've known him and met parents since the 60's.
What happened? He looked very healthy at the Colorado meet. Guess we should start working on that Model A bucket list!! He'll be missed. |

Re: Another Loss....Steve Salazar
Steve Salazar was battling throat cancer. He battled through in early 2016, and was healthy enough to go to Colorado and regain his health through the summer. We all thought that he was going to beat this thing. Then in late 2016, just before the holidays the cancer came back. He pushed forward and was fighting again, but unfortunately could not recover, and we lost him January 27th, 2017.
Please let all of his friends know about the memorial in my previous post. All are welcome to come attend, it will be a nice memorial for him. Clark Crump |
