1935 Ford radiator to grille brackets
Hello, i am trying to assemble my late brothers 1935 3 window coupe and have been having a hard time finding the radiator brackets that hold the grille. Unfortunately the radiator on the car does not have any brackets.
Does anyone have a spare set they sell or maybe even some photos of what they look like? Thanks in advance George |

Re: 1935 Ford radiator to grille brackets
Hey Pete. Those brackets are part of the frame that the radiator sits on. I think he is speaking of the small brackets that attach to the radiator itself. The 35 does not have these little brackets/braces as did the 34, at least not on the pickup.

Re: 1935 Ford radiator to grille brackets
Not the rod brackets. The bracketd that attach to the radiator, what the grille gets bolted on to

Re: 1935 Ford radiator to grille brackets
I'm thinking that you're going to have to find a donor radiator to obtain these brackets....

Likely given that they are riveted on to the side panels.

Re: 1935 Ford radiator to grille brackets
Can you tell us more about the radiator you are working with? A stock car would want the multiple brackets (clearly shown in the pictures) to be part of the radiator for frame and fender and grill mounting and line-up. They weren't a separate piece for 35 radiators as DavidG said.

Re: 1935 Ford radiator to grille brackets
petehoovie...I may be wrong, but I do not think the brackets pictured are for a 35. If I remember correctly, the 35 has only one hole for mounting the radiator whereas the 36 and later had two. Perhaps there was an early and late 35?

Re: 1935 Ford radiator to grille brackets
oldandtired, You're correct, those frame gussets/radiator supports are the '36+ version as the '35 version had but one hole for the radiator. I understand that the extra hole was added to accommodate a different radiator mounting position for commercial vehicles.
