Thanks for prayers & thoughts
Brent suggested I follow up with you guys.
The Model A community is the best. I've always enjoyed the cars, but it's the people that have made the hobby special. Even though I no longer own an A, I've continued to be involved just because you folks give back so much more than you take. I have mixed feelings about the carburetor rebuilding & selling business. On the one hand, it may be time to let it go...many other things to occupy my time & efforts in the next months. On the other hand I have a need to busy myself as normally as I can while I can. So, I've decided that while I can, I'll do some rebuilding as asked, if not asked in too big a hurry. But, if anyone is interested in becoming a new carb guy and wants everything necessary to do the job, I'll be glad to unload the whole thing...and it's a lot..carbs, parts, special tools, literature, etc. Let me know if interested. In the end, it's the love we've shared and earned that determines our worth & our memory will be based on the kind of man we were, not the kind of car we had. Jim

Re: Thanks for prayers & thoughts
I will continue to pray for you. Thank You for all that you do for the hobbie. Keeping busy is good medicine. I had just gotten my A moved from the farm to my house afew weeks before I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Tinkering with it as much as I was allowed to was good. I had gotten it running in the week between my diagnosis and the surgery, so I had to start it for everyone that stopped by. I had lifting restrictions while I was healing, so really did not get much done other than take out afew dents and loosen up door handles and such. Keep a good attitude and alot will go your way. Rod

Re: Thanks for prayers & thoughts
Keeping your hands and mind busy is an important part of this recovery. My daughter just finished 8 months of treatment and is now in remission. All our hopes and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Re: Thanks for prayers & thoughts
Jim,
Many may be so deeply touched by your message that some are just lost for words with which to reply. However, rest assured that your sincere, courageous message definitely hits home in the hearts & minds of all of us on this Forum who took the time to read it. Reading your expression of the love you shared among others makes it impossible for any of us to forget you during this very special Season of Christmas -- compassionately understanding your above reply is a prayer in itself for you & your family. Thanks for allowing us to share in your thanks! |

I think that by staying busy (even if just part time) will keep you healthier mentally and your mind off other "things. God Bless you, remember the glass is half FULL.

Jim,
A friend & I often reflect on the times in our lives when we both thought, "Is this the time when THEY turn off our lights?"---Didn't happen! Praying for your COMPLETE recovery. Bill W.
