Default Headlight switch adjustment

I just acquired a 1929 Phaeton Restored. Headlight switch off is at 8 o'clock. All positions work. How to adjust off position to 6?

Does the wiring harness exit the switch housing at the bottom, ie at 6 o'clock?

If so, I'd guess your switch rod is twisted slightly. Or the lever was re-attached to the rod with the alignment off during a previous repair.

The headlight switch cover has a little tab on the outside of the part that fits up into the end of the steering gear box. The extension from the gearbox has a notch that the tab on the switch housing fits into to line it up. That notch should be straight down at 6 o'clock too. Hard to describe without a picture.

I had one that was off to, turned out the horn rod itself was twisted. It is a bit fragile but wanted to try & straighten it anyhow. Took horn rod out (roadster pickup) and clamped it just below the connection under the horn button & above the "C" clip groove and twisted it, I was real leary about breaking it so did it a few times gently, gradually a bit more each time. it finally came in straight. The horn rods ar steel & tougher than you would suspect.
