I hope his insurance company doesn't see what he thinks it's worth. Do I see a premium increase in his near future?

Made you look didn't it! On several ocassions I have placed ads in Hemmings or Autoweek over the Christmas and New Year's holiday for a car at an unreasonably high price. Showed my wife the ads and pointed out that there was no market for that car and I might as well keep it.

I'll bet the guy's going thru a divorce or some such situation and wants to show an attempt to sell. I saw a guy do this and he outbid everyone and just paid the fees and took it all home with him, complete with all the documentation the verify the sale.

It is simple. He is no fool, he is just using Hemmings for a low priced advertisement for his business, "Joe's Old Cars". How can he get any better and cheaper exposure than Hemmings or Ebay for showing his whole inventory to a unique target group of thousands of possible old car buyers? Just shrewd, that's all.

But very nice truck!

Don't worry. The U.S. Navy will buy it.

I've been involved w/ this hobby many many years. In 1971 if you spent a couple thousand dollars on parts and repairs you were into a Model A for a lot of coin. Today you're looking at $5,000 plus for motor-clutch-tranny rebuild. Now throw in ten grand for paint (unless you can do a GOOD job yourself), two hundred bucks a pop for tires, chances are you will get a set of inner tubes that are leakers and go flat,,,,,, and on and on. That's only a start. Point being, these old gals anymore are getting pretty darn pricey to build. Kinda puts a crimp in the fun factor
