Default 35-36 Pickup Floor Pan Help Needed

I’m hoping someone can help me with the floor pan section that is beneath the seat in a 35-36 Pickup. My pickup is missing this panel. I know someone sells replacements, but from what I’ve seen they are nothing like the originals other than being rectangular. I either want to buy an original (if someone has one for sale) or get enough info and pictures from someone that has one so that I can replicate one for my pickup.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Josh

Josh: I replaced that panel in my peecup with one made by Paul Bradley in N.C. I found it to be an exact copy of the original. Paul was going to make the seat riser as well, and I have the first iteration of that project which, so far as I know, never made it to fruition. Lawson

Thanks Lawson. Do you know if this panel is the same for 35 and 36? The picture shows what I’ve seen for original floor pans. I have not seen anyone making a replica of this, but I hope someone does.

The 35/6 pickup under seat panels are the same as far as I can tell. Paul Bradley makes them or did. I took an OEM under seat for a 35/6 and placed it on top of one of Paul's and if there was any difference, I couldn't see it. The 35/6 is not the same as the 37 under seat panel. The 35/6 has 9 grooves in it and the 37 has more than that, 12 I believe. I believe the 35/6 and the 37 interchange with no issues other than the same number of grooves. I do not remember the OEM panels as having the same groove pattern as the one you have posted the picture of, but I would not be surprised if there were regional differences. I no longer have my 35 or 37 pickups so I cannot provide any pictures.

I'll take pictures of my 37 so you can compare.

Hello....I have a '36 Ford pickup and bought my sheet metal floor pan (under the seat) from Howell's Sheet Metal out of Beaumont, Texas and it fit perfectly. You can Google search and they have them for $105.00 (not sure if they are exact number of grooves and/or location compared to Henry Ford, but under the seat and out of sight).

I hope this helps some,

Bruce in California

The one I pictured is the only style I have seen in original pickups. Although I have not seen under the seat of too many. Thanks everyone for the help.

Hi Bruce,
I have seen the one Howells makes, but I have not seen an original floor pan that looks like theirs, which doesn't mean anything. I'm sure it's possible that Ford had different versions of this panel. I just want to make sure I am using the correct version.

Thanks

Can anybody tell me the thickness of this panel and/or the depths of the two different sized beads?

Thanks

I am still trying to find more information on one of these panels or better yet, find an original for sale. However, I may just have to form one. I am assuming this panel under the seat is riveted in place. Can somebody confirm this for me and if possible, share the style and direction of the rivet? Thank you.

The cab on my PU was originally from a 1.5 ton truck, so I can't say about rivets. I know when I put the under the seat panel in it, I riveted it in.

Josh, Is this what you are looking for? It came with my 36 but the cab is at the sandblaster so I am not able to see where this piece fits. Art
