Default valve adjustment before I install heads?

I have adjusted all the valves in the sequence according to Pages 1933 book. By that I mean when a certain two valves are open you adjust these 6. and so forth. I adjusted them to .012 that was my recollection going back to the 70's when I did my last one. It is a 21 stud LB block, johnson lifters, and a 21A cam. Anybody on their lunch hour at the moment. I want to put the heads on after lunch. Thanks in advance. Fred

I was asking because the book I used was 1933. They said between 11 and 12 thousands. The cam I used is a n.o.s. 21A-6250 which is 1942-48. I was not sure if there would be a diffrence. I will be using a cam adapter to the dist. If someone thinks the 42-48 cam is different let me know Thanks.

As stated above, 12 intake 14 exhaust. I would put each valve on the heal of the cam for adjustment. Less chance of screwing it up when doing intake and exhaust at different lashes.

Is the setting still the same when using the new stainless steel straight stem valves?

no matter what valve you use the settings stay the same, only time they will be different is when you change the cam, then the manufactor may have different setting for the valves
