Default Rebuilding Shocks

I am pretty technically competent and want to try to rebuild my model A shocks. What manual or web site has the best printed directions on the subject? Thanks for the help. Gary

Have you looked in the Ford service bulletins?

Diablo As have a good video on this (available from the usual suspects) which has nearly served to convince me I want no part of doing this. (Maybe it was the part about cooking them for four hours in a charcoal BBQ). They look like a real SOB to disassemble.

Also if you do a search on this forum you'll learn a ton about shocks. The part that concerns me is the high probability that after all that effort to get them apart, they will not be rebuildable. There's also the possibility that welding & machining will be required to get the fixed vanes set up right. Probably I'm going to send 6-8 of them to an expert and see if he can produce a set of 4 rebuilt ones in return.

Les Andrews book Vol. 1 has a section on rebuilding shocks, too. It sounds a bit daunting to me.
