35 Ground Straps
Starting to put the Phaeton back together and wounder where about on the engine and on the frame is the 'engine to frame' ground strap physically located ??
I also plan to add a strap at the front of the body and frame as well as one from the rear of the body and frame and question if there is any significance as to where they are placed ?? Thanks, Jim

Re: 35 Ground Straps
according to the '35-'36 book--"The + terminal of the battery was connted to ground with the 48-14301 cable. The cable crossed from the battery over the frame cross member to the universal joint outer cap. There it was fastened to the cap assembly hex bolt."

Re: 35 Ground Straps
Thanks Mike, I am more interested in the placement or best location for two additional straps, one from the (engine to frame) and one from the (body to frame) which would be in additon to the (battery to frame) that you pointed out.....which I am glad you did.
Jim

Re: 35 Ground Straps
Jim , If you feel better about having them I remember seeing this very simply and discreetly done by running a ground strap from the ground point on the tourque tube bell cover to the battery box inner front bolt and from this same bolt a ground strap to the seat bolt . Really hard to spot and does the job . I personally don't run extra grounds but I can't see it hurting anything . David J
