What sort of life could one expect from a mileage point of view. Is it worth the extra money with miles verses dollar between regular verses radial tires?

I haven't fitted a set of those tyres myself but a friend has worn out a set of 5. He used the troublesome 5.00X19 and found they wore at about the same rate as any other. Would he buy them again? Yes - They improved the steering and handling so much.
Others may have other experience but that is what he found.
When the time comes, I'd like to try the 5.50X19 ones but the $$$ is a problem - then there is the freight both wityhin the US and crossing the Pacific. I can feel the money pouring out of my pocket now!
