Where could I find how many of each model Ford produced in 1933 and 1934?

The 33/34 EFV8 Club restoration book has the figures legend in it for some of the models, not sure there is one for "commercial" vehicles.

Note that the figures in the DeAngelis/Francis book shown above are U.S. production only. Worldwide production numbers could be substantially greater depending on the body type. The worldwide figures will be included in the Club's new '33-'34 book.

why are the figures for 35 so low in vultures chart?

They aren't '35s, but rather '34s still being produced in the 1935 calendar year. The start up and end-of-model-year production did not take place at the same time at all assembly plants.

Still working on it, but there are lots of conflicting demands on my time and I have lot less energy than only a few years ago.

The problem with the pickup production figures is that in terms of Ford's production records, there are three bodies and a commercial chassis involved and the production of each of those is listed separately and not together as a whole vehicle. Those bodies were 46-800 (open cab), 46-810 (closed cab), and 46-830 (pickup). The temptation is to think that 46-830 (pickup) is the number for all pickups, and in a way it is that, but only to the extent of the bed count as 46-830 is only a bed, not a combined bed, cab, and chassis. The production records show the number of commercial chassis produced by engine type (four and V8), but they do not show how many of those chassis were driveaways, with or without a cab, and with a cab, how many were closed cabs or open cabs.

On top of that, Ford did not assign a new model number to the '34s and therefore the production records do not show a clear demarcation between the 1933 and 1934 model year's production. We know that 1934 model year vehicles were produced in late 1933 as the U.S. public introduction date of the 1934 models was December 9, 1933. We also know that 1933 models were still being produced in the 1934 calendar in countries where the Job #1 dates lagged behind those in North America by four to six months. In other words, it is a mess in terms of statistics.

I have the worldwide 1933-34 cab production figures, but not the bed production figures, at least not where I am presently. But those are not representative of pickup truck production as the cab count includes those mounted on big truck chassis as well. I'm hoping that when the Benson Ford Research Center in Dearborn finally reopens to the public that I will be able to end up with more facts and fewer guesstimates.

wow, thank you so much for explaining. I just bought a 33 pu closed cab on ebay.
Looks to be mostly original and I understand 33 was a strong depression yr.
I have seen several 33s over the yrs with 4 cylinder engines, not so many with original v-8s and hence, my inquiry.
Looks like the number will be random regardless. Surprised that Ford didnt keep better #s on these.......

I am sure you know how to tell IF your truck was originally a V8 or a 4cyl? There has been much water under the bridge in its life time AND as you stated, many were 4 cyl and many have been changed from 4's to 8's over the years as well!!!

Ronn, I saw that one, it has a later V8 block and it will need some body work. Good job on the price. now you need to make it roadworthy, good brakes and steering. My '33 was originally a Model B, 4 cylinder and they swapped out a '36 V8 install. Good Luck!!!!
