Default Speedster, rear springs.

Hello,
I am putting my rear end back together this weekend on my speedster build. I will be using my A Springs, not T Springs. I have new Shackles, and will be installing Spring Liners. Those of you who have Model A Speedsters, have you left rear springs out of the pack, if so which ones?

Thx,
Quinn

I'm taking mine apart in the next few weeks and removing every other spring. Stock Tudor springs won't even budge while driving.

I took five of the ten leaves out of my speedster rear spring. Dont forget you have to leave the top leaf in. The one tht has the bevels on the sides - in order for it to fit correctly inside the Rear Crossmember. She still rides stiff but is tolerable.

I've only taken 3 out, and it is a little stiff. I use a T spring under my wide-bed, it lowers it nicely and I would think would be great for a speedster.

Jim,
You took out 3 from how many? My spring pack has 8 springs. Also which ones did you take out? I am thinking if the bottom spring is #1, then take out #'s 2, 4, 6. And not put in any spacers to take up the missing spaces. That will soften the ride a bit and lower it about an inch due to the thickness of the missing springs.

Ken,
Nice Boat tail, if you took out 5, which ones?

Bump, still looking for advice on which springs to remove, which to leave. More important than how many you took out is how many did you leave in? As spring packs contain different quantities of springs depending on which chassis you started with.

Thx.

Thank you Tin Cup, but there are 8 springs in my pack.

Thank you Tom, I have a "b" type spring pack (8 springs). But I would still like to know which ones are best to leave in for a Speedster Build.

I left #1 & 2 in place, seems like the #1 needs backing up for strength? Also left in the very top one to fit into the crossmember.
