Armored around ign. cable
I am just wondering if any one cuts the armor around their ignition cable to make a lot easier to install. And if do they how much? I am sure no one wants to whack up an original one. Right!

Re: Armored around ign. cable
If you want something easier just buy the thin repro cable and switch. I wouldn't damage original parts to make some job easier.

I have seen where someone has opened up the clamp by filing a hex shape so it would fit over the head nut with a friction fit so as to not have to remove the nut. As I posted before, a working POP out can go for as much as $400.00.

Re: Armored around ign. cable
Long ago, I've seen a cork, with a nail driven through it, then "screwed" into the dist. hole & the wire just wound the nail!!!

Re: Armored around ign. cable
I use a modern look alike switch from Brattons, and I cut the cable housing short, so it looks correct under the hood, but is not in the gas tank tunnel making noise. It is easier to install.

Re: Armored around ign. cable
Richard YES,. Ron Ehrenhofer rebuilds originals and always cuts them to make two parts, easy to install and remove and no one can tell...
