Replacing '46 sedan speedometer cable
Imagine my surprise when I pulled the speedometer cable from my 1946 2-dr sedan and found it was only 22 inches long. No wonder the speedometer had not been working. So now I need a new cable and some instruction on how to get out the piece of cable that is still in the metal cable run. I assume it will have to come out from the transmission end....how do I do that?

Re: Replacing '46 sedan speedometer cable
You should be able to unscrew the other end at the trans. Once you get it off you should be able to take a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the rest of the cable out. If it's stuck inside of the housing. You might have to soak the housing in some PB Blaster for a few days
