Valves switched
Working on a '31 model A engine. Guy said it last ran 2 years ago before distributor fried. Bored .060 over. Valve chamber is clean. Over all a decent looking engine. I notice one set of valves is switched. Exhaust valve is in the intake spot and intake in exhaust spot. Will this hurt anything or will it be fine?

Re: Valves switched
I'm not sure I am totally following you when you say one set of valves are switched. Originally all valves were 1.500" in diameter. Can you elaborate further on your concern?? Typically no harm in using a valve in either an exhaust or intake position as long as it is properly seated and clearanced.

Re: Valves switched
Some old intake valves were made of a type of steel that would not withstand the high temperatures that an exhaust valve experiences. Test your valve with a magnet. If it is highly magnetic, do not use it in an exhaust position. It only weakly magnetic, you can use it anywhere.
