Default Installing rear bearing, grease seal, and snap ring video

Hey everyone,

I got around to installing the rear cast iron drums from Randy Gross. After painting them with VCT high temp glass black paint, I installed the greased bearing, grease seal, and snap ring. I made a video showing how I used the Bratton hub seal driver.

I use a hub bearing to install the seals, hasn't failed yet.

Seems like a SIMPLE task, but if you never did one, it can be a daunting task. Remember, the sharp lip always goes TOWARD the grease.
On LATER Fords, the DIFFERENTIAL PINION seal seems to almost be too BIG & requires a good driver & a Big Hammer to get it in.
"Sometimes" it might dis-lodge the "booster" spring, under the seal LIP, & shortly it will leak, AGAIN! To prevent this, pack the spring area, with wheel bearing grease!
