Wanting to upgrade exhaust system more preformance
Hello, I have purchased my first fairly complete Model T, 27 T Roadster. I am wanting and needing too replace the home-made exhaust system that's on it now. I have seen a few after market manifolds; as well as reading about using a Model A manifold that can be used. I don't know if this is a direct bolt on or what kind of modification it needs? perhaps someone can inform me on this. Part of my exhaust system has a down draft pipe for the carb, It is aluminum I think it is an after market part but has no markings. I would like to keep using this part and just have to replace the exhaust pipe. Hopefully I will hear from some whom have added a better exhaust system for a little more performance. Thanks all...Mike

It has been a while since I've bought anything.
I just looked at Snyders site. They show a dual outlet manifold '100 percent increase volume'. Nice folks to deal with.

Model A manifolds are heavy in the rear where the outlet is. They tend to droop after time so I'd suggest checking other possibilities before going this route.

Without a picture its hard to know, but it sounds like you have the '27 Holley Vaporizer. Take off the muffler and see if you get a boost, otherwise get regular Model T manifolds and an NH or Kingston carb. The vaporizer is a mileage carb, not a performer...
