Call Pertronix. They did a custom set up for my four lobe Mallory Chevy distributor converted to an 8b flathead, that is 6 volt positive ground.

I installed the electronic ignition "Stronberg mada in UK" in my Ford V8, and the car runs very well, the engine is very tuned and with a spectacular sound.

I’m putting the Stromberg e-fire 6 volt positive ground distributor on my 40 convertible on Saturday. I bought it from Millworks Hot Rod in New Hampshire. Zack from Wired Customs has some videos for the installation on myflatheadford.com. Pretty straightforward on how to do it.

regardless of which one you choose read the instructions several times and make sure all connections are 110% even the earth its so important also ask the supplier if there are any needs as far as coil loading or wire size or plug leads as there have been so many posts on here with varied results from perfect to 110% failures

Also Steve (you should have asked this question at the Meeting last Wed), make sure you ask about coils.
I had Pentrix in my 1949 for about a month before it FRIED.
Back to the points and condenser -- moved the vehicle for over 70 years and was designed for it.

With a good magneto, you can always get home - even if your battery has died.

If you're running a Vertex, you put in what are known as "Rare Earth" magnets - they don't lose their charge.

Have a 1927 wlico magneto on a 1927 throttler. Still works.

Granted most of use are not going to run a flathead on a mag. Points will get you home too.

I'll throw this out there. There is obvious advantages to electronic ignitions in controlling the curve that is harder to do with tuning. Some how they did it before without.
