1938 sedan antenna
How do I replace the antenna lead from the radio to the center mast? Does the headliner have to be dropped?

Take a look at the forward most portion of the head liner. I think you will find a removable panel covered in headliner material. That panel covers the windshield wiper motor and antenna connection.

38 don't have a header panel;will have to take headliner loose, I think the wire goes downthrough drivers side windshield post

It's a task that requires patience but can be done. Dropping an old headliner and reinstalling it usually doesn't end well.
