Default Gas tank derusting

I stumbled on this youtube video.Maybe a LITTLE dangerous but impressive.
I haven't tried it but it seems like it will work.

Looks pretty interesting - I might try it on an older 32 tank that I have.

It looks like it worked pretty well. That's probably a good use for electrolysis de-rusting, since it only works by "line-of-sight" between the anode and the surface to be de-rusted. Tank baffles might pose a problem.

I used this process to Clean my 40 gas tank a few months ago. Turned out very well. I used a piece of 1/2” steel pipe for the electrode because it gives you more surface area. I installed it through the sending unit hole. Just don’t let it touch the bottom of the tank. Took about three days and I dumped the contents and put in a new batch every day. Had to clean the electrode several times a day. I installed an ammeter in the line between the battery and electrode. When the ammeter falls back you’ll know it’s time to clean the electrode.
