Cushion pads???

[31 Model A]

I've used every search word I know to locate on Snyders the rubber cushion pads that go between the frame and the body. Mine are a bit worn and need replaced. What exactly are they called?

Unfortunatly, I have not found a supplier for correct rubber pads. The originals had fabric moulded in for strength, and the replacements are just rubber, which will squish out over time.

Not them Mike, these are rubber and are between the frame and the body in certain places.

I believe these are what I'm looking for. Some have become brittle too.

I believe the pads on Sarah now were hand cut and placed in place back in the 70s when she was restored/semi-restored and have since worn out and become brittle. A fellow Barner is sending me some he made himself from his small supply of what he has left.

You can buy small rolls of reinforced rubber belting at tractor supply or agricultural supply stores (Tractor Supply). Its about 3/16" thick, and inexpensive. You can use your old ones for patterns, and cut your own. I bought a 5 inch wide roll and have had good results.

Sounds like a piece cut out of the sidewall of an old tire.

Could you not be opening up a can of worms? you're going to have to loosen body bolts to get the new rubbers in and if door and hood alignment good now it may not be after due to increased thickness of whatever you use. JMO FWIPaul in CT

I have taken that into consideration. Something needs to be corrected because of the 'THUD' I get from the driver's side rear when I hit a bump. I thought a new shock would alleviate it because the old shock had lost its seal and wouldn't keep fluid topped off any longer. Nice flat surface, no problem but country roads is quite 'thudish'.

NO this is what you want "BELTING" and all you do is spray it black or with DP90 and it works perfect.. Just order the size you need and cut to specs. worked perfectly....A lot of fine pointers use this
