I like these - pricey but very well designed.

Smart Signals

Right now they are out of stock & you have to put down a $25 deposit.

Pretty neat, will be interesting to see if they work with the engine RUNNING. Would love to see a follow-up on this!!!!
They were complaining about smartsignal with interference with the ignition on the MTFCA forum

I have a set on my 16 touring and they work great. The batteries last a long time and the signal is visible from a good distance. The engine has no effect on their operation.

Try http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Bicycle-...item3cd80152f8

Configured for the back of your motorcycle or helmet but adaptable to the back of your Model A.

Three push buttons within reach of the operator - no auto reset, of course.

Thanks for the link Joe K, I did find many motorcycle type units but I was looking for a motor vehicle set but none appear to be listed. I guess two of the motorcycle type may work as well.

The Smart Signals look like a better operation. The Elights seem to me that some drivers behind you might interpret the flashing right turn signal as a left turn signal because it is on the left side of the car. People aren't always so bright, and if a hand signal confuses them, a flashing light on the left side of the car, even though it points right, might also confuse them. I like the idea. I hope in the next iteration they come up with something like Smart Signals in the $100 range.

My cheapy t/s will be mounted high up on the huckster top rail and in the center, but the idiots will probably still not pay attention.

Wondering if the same control would operate 2 units. The front would be installed upside down in order to flash the correct direction.

Jim, regarding the Smart Signals. I have been interested in this product for some time. I know the seller will answer FAQs but I would like to know from an actual owner. Do they "grip" well enough on the Model A bumpers? Where do you mount the dash unit. Can I buy new batteries locally, at a Batteries Plus or on Amazon etc, or only from Smart Signal? If some boob, like me, breaks one signal or another boob backs into a signal, can these be coded and replaced, or does a whole set need to be repurchased ? They are pricey, but if what they say is true, they a worth it and can be resold if they are no longer of use or you sell the car. Ron

Hi Ron. I'm an actual "owner" of a set. I have used them for well over a thousand miles including last night in 45 degree weather here in the east coast driving home at 10:00pm from a birthday party. I live on a back road which isn't the best road surface. Pot holes for sure and ruts. No issues, ever. The magnets are very powerful and stick on my Fordor rear fenders and front bumpers without any issues. I've been all over with them and no longer give it a consideration when I hit a pot hole which are all over the place here in the Northeast. I mount the control unit on the dash metal surface right behind the spark advance lever behind the steering wheel. I use my fingers to move the switch between left and right with ease. I haven't had any issues with batteries so I haven't even considered replacement as yet. In fact I have tried to drain the batteries of all 4 units for over 4 hours on emergency flasher mode and gave up. (Actually my wife was tired of seeing the lights blinking in the house and took a fit so I shut them down...)

As for the batteries, I don't suspect that will be an issue for some time either but when I'm ready to get new batteries I will most likely contact the manufacture for new ones. If one unit should be damaged and fail or fall off, they can setup and sell you one new unit.

So all I can say is so far is they work as advertised and I'm a whole lot happier that I can drive the car late at night with running lights on all around the car and the signals are very very bright which is great.

These units sure beat wiring the car for signals and work even better when you have a trailer that isn't wired or is being used by someone who's power/directional connections are not the same as yours.

I hope this helps you out. Good luck!

At that cost and looking at the shape I would be surprised if they were rechargeable!
