Default Walter Thornton Oct 29th, 1929

Where can I purchase a photo of Mr Thornton trying to sell his 1928 Chrysler Roadster Imperial 75 for $100.00 (about $1,500.00 in 2020) during the Stock Market Crash Oct., 29th, 1929.
Thanks

This is a pretty random question I would think for here, ...but the first thoughts I would have for you is; how do you know this happened? 2nd, have you actually seen this picture that you are describing, -and if so, where?? Also, have you Googled Mr. Thornton's name and all of the surrounding search phrases (i.e.: stock market crash, 1928 Chrysler Roadster, etc.) to see what comes up?

If you saw it in a magazine, then could you contact the publisher or the author? If it was on a website, then ask the webmaster.

You can check the typical image archives like Getty to see if they have a print available.

If you wanted to print it yourself you could find a hi res copy like this one and use a service like Shutterfly or even Walgreens to print it out to the size you like.

I see there are prints of it available on ebay.

As for getting it colorized...you'll have to find a service that does it.

Not a bad idea.... I fear we have something like this again coming at us down the road in the near future.

Hope I'm wrong.

The picture date: Oct., 30th, 1929. The car cost $1,555.00 in '28.
I've found the colorized, thanks Sinbad.
This happen 92 years ago, is why I find it interesting. It fits the Model A Era

He apparently recovered very quickly. Shortly after the picture was taken, among other things he founded a modelling agency which was to become the largest in the U.S. and well known worldwide. Lots of information on the web.

You're not wrong. Have any of you heard the phrase " you'll own nothing and you'll be happy"? Have any of you heard the phrase " Great reset"? Not conspiracy and was uttered by a certain billionaire before the last election. Not trying to stir but it might serve you (everyone) well to just research a little. If you haven't heard the above, there's a reason. Look for more photos of newer cars being sold cheap.

I think that picture is so well known because it was in some history textbooks. It was with descriptions of people jumping out of windows too,but they didn't show pictures of that.I remember learning about it in school very clearly.I just couldn't understand people killing themselves over money.

Considering our paper money is just that, paper money with nothing really behind it and easy for it to be worthless.

He was a model and ran a modelling business that doesn't seem to have been affected by the crash.

It most likely wasn't his car. Maybe he just put the sign on the car for the photo to promote his business?
I think it is debatable also that anyone jumped out of a window?
