Default Door Seal Installation

Hey guys,

I'm going to order new door seals and replace them on my 47 Super Deluxe. The PO had installed some kind of crappy weather stripping along the door opening on the car body itself but my question is, does the seal go on the door or the car body?

Thanks in advance !

On the door edge except at the edge of the floor where the seal fits inside of a holder there. The seals should come with diagrams and instructions depending on where you get them from. Click on each of the pictures on this page of C&G to see the different kinds you need and how and where they go. http://cgfordparts.com/ufolder/cgcat...s&searchnumber=

Their kit number 11A-7020530-S has everything you need for your tudor and I believe comes with diagrams and instructions. Call them to see if it does. That's where I got mine some years ago.

The seals may come with peal and stick on the back but it doesn't hold very long. Best to get the 3M seal adhesive listed to get them to stay.

Don't forget to use masking tape in places to hold seal while glue is drying.

Have a kit from C&G for my 48. Kit consists of 5 packages. Front seal instructions show it glued to door from top of hinge down. Top seal show it glued to the body. No instructions where included for the back or bottom edges or the little L pieces. I have e-mailed C&G and am waiting for a reply. Looking for help from a fellow 48 owner.

Here's some L-Shaped info from DRAKE catalog of the 1970's.

Thanks 199Fordy. Those instructions tell me where the L's go.
