Default The more things change...

Old saying: "The more things change, the more they stay the same".
This hit me as I was reviewing engine features of my recently acquired 2015 VW Diesel. One of the upgrades for the 2015 model is "an integrated exhaust manifold to give quick warmups." Exhaust gasses come straight out of the head into the turbo through one port; no bolted on manifold.
Hmmm, exhaust passages running through the water jacket? Now where have I seen that before?? Looks like Ol' Henry was 83 years ahead of his time!

I know what you mean. My neighbor is all agog about his new BMW because it has a starter button and all he has to do is push on it to start his car (after he turns the key on!).
