Default 33/34 4cyl short water pumps solid brass???

Hi all; I have a V8er looking for a 33/34 4cyl water pump and I found my only one is SOLID brass?? I've seen regular cast iron ones [don't have], but found this solid brass one in my inventory. Will it work and any ideas of its origin??? Thanks Newc

There was an aftermarket Model A water pump that had that plate on top, I assume this is just the '33-'34 version from that same manufacturer. The all brass is interesting. Might look good polished. Depending on what the rest of the car is like you probably should place a wanted ad for an original one, I am sure there is something out there. My main concern would be whether or not the pump used standard components. I think I would go with the cast iron Ford pump and look for someone to rebuild it as a leakless pump.

Being all brass and shorter looks like a marine application.

All of the '33-'34 four-cylinder water pumps were shorter than their predecessors of necessity given the sloping radiator.

Here is one on EBAY: https://www.ebay.com/itm/29297998755...m=292979987556 I know nothing about it and am not connected to the seller. Note that it is listed in error as a '32.

Be sure to check the availability of all rebuild parts before you get too far.

You might check with some of the rebuilders and ask if they can rebuild it. See if you can get it rebuilt in a leakless configuration. Send them some pictures. If the answer is no ask why, it might provide some valuable insight even if you plan to do the rebuild yourself.
