Default Mallory repl cap & rotor

This comes up from time to time so here goes.....Napa has a one piece cap
and a rotor to replace the 2 piece Mallory cap and rotor...
CAP NAPA# MA9
ROTOR NAPA # MA7
Interesting both made in Germany...the cap is heavy dark brown or black
bakelite or hard plastic ( not sure) and brass everything else. My NAPA sources these from their big warehouse in Virginia. Hard to explain but the cap
has a good 'look'.

Well, try to find a new/NOS original two-piece cap system and rotor . . . you'll feed the whole family for the price.

Part of the appeal is the design of the two piece cap. How about replacement points for the old flat caps? Now that's something I'd be interested in having the new part numbers for.

I've done some work on this and have found replacements for a couple of common Mallory numbers. Unfortunately, all of my information is back in Minnesota and I don't currently have access to it. It is posted on the H.A.M.B. somewhere, and I seem to remember that the 8BA Mallory's run the same points as the stock 8BA distributors. Don't quote me on that, though. I should be easy enough to check.
