Default Proper U joint housing?

Since I have my engine and transmission all out, I want to deal with the transmission mount. The PO put a float a motor mount in, but I have heard of clutch chatter issues with them and it isn't right. So I want to get rid of it.

My car is a 28 Roadster, so I know the u joint housing I have is not correct. It has no lugs. My car was pieced together, so it is possible that the frame is a later frame. What distinguishes the early and late frames in this area? Also, which u joint housing will I need?
