Re: 330 model A
They are extremely easy to find; so I am presuming you have found one, or several places to build one. I have found two of such engines for sale over the last two days - and I am not even looking !
I suspect that what you are saying is that you are looking for a "Touring Engine" that does not cost very much - much less than the $4,500 - $5,000 that they cost. And finding a $5,000 engine for $3,000 (my figure, not yours) is NOT easy to find, as there are lots of extra costs that go into a 'Touring Engine'. |

Re: 330 model A
I tour with my 100% stock engine.
So I assume you want some horsepower improvements. The two things I consider well worth doing are a counterweighted crankshaft, and a higher compression head. |

Re: 330 model A
What's the difference between my town sedan (stock) and the touring engine, tranny, displacement, full blown V-8 with dual mallory points?
Forgive my ignorance with this stuff,,,I'm still a pup with A's

Re: 330 model A
Usually but not always it starts with, an engine that has insert bearings, lightened flywheel, counter weights, High compression head, different cam. The reason is to have a "more reliable" engine that will perform closer to Fords top speed for greater driving times then the average around town driving. In other words, an engine that will drive at 55-60 for long periods of time.
