Re: Columbia not engaging
Very good Richard!
As long as the male part of the speedo cable is long enough to be inserted into the speedo “square” socket and with your spacer, it stays on; you should be good. Odd on the actuating arm. Send pics if you need more help. Glenn |

Re: Columbia not engaging
Thanks Glenn, I have a friend coming over in the morning to help me with this last piece of the puzzle. Here is a photo of what we are working on.
I’m taking today off to lick my wounds! |

These may help. First from https://www.columbiatwospeedparts.co...Parts_JPEG.jpg
You've the right idea on drilling the arm closer to the actuating shaft. Glenn |

Re: Columbia not engaging
Took the vac rod out and “reprogrammed” the throw of the speedometer rod. After holding the speedometer rod at various points we drilled a new hole and hooked everything back up. Perfection! Well almost .. I took it for a test drive. Everything worked beautifully except the speedometer. It was working when I took delivery in January but never seemed to measure real speed. It finally quit working completely about 10 miles ago.
The speedometer end of the cable is fine but the end that goes into the turtle on the torque tube is reemed off. Lucky I have a new cable on hand that I will install tomorrow morning. |

Re: Columbia not engaging
Good work Richard. Glad to hear you’ve got that sorted. Now can you do a favour and post a photo of your33? It looks like a very nice & rare car. Dan.

Re: Columbia not engaging
Thanks Guys for all your help. I was completely intimidated by the Columbia OD and thought I would never be able to repair or even diagnose such a complicated system. You guys provided me with confidence being there sharing your knowledge and suggestions at every roadblock.
Dan, I am going to take some pictures soon. I’ve been dealing with a lot of drivability issues since I first took delivery. Haven’t even had time to wash it! Richard |
