Re: rear gear 3.08-1
If you are using an automatic trans mabe you will be ok , I tried the very same gear ratio with a 3 speed box and I constantly had to stay in the box ( constantly downshifting) even on flatland, and my fuel mileage went to hell also, I went back to a 3.55.

That's a fairly heavy car for that high a gear isn't it?

Unless someone has changed your rear gear, you should have a 3.73 to 1 gear ratio. Why not look around for an over drive trans. The reduction will be about 30%. If your ultimate aim is to go "Faster", remember, your should upgrade your brakes to go along with the extra speed. Ken Last edited by KGS; 06-22-2020 at 12:44 AM. |
