1940 steering wheel removal
Wheel stuck...how do you remove one that is stuck without damage to the wheel.

It requires a puller, or you can make one from a piece of 1/4" steel flat stock
Drill 2 holes in the flat stock to march up with the 2 holes in the wheel, Use a couple longer fine thread bolts through the plate into the wheel, Put a larger hex head cap screw and nut between the plate and top of the steering shaft. Take up the slack with between the steering shaft and plate with the cap screw & nut, and tighten the 2 long bolts into the wheel to pull the wheel off. |

Are you trying to remove the steering wheel or the whole steering shaft or both? jerry
