Default Cutout wiring

Does the wire from the firewall go to the back or front of cutout. When I took the generator off, there were two wires that went to the cutout, one on front and one on back. Now I have the wire from the firewall going to the back of cutout and now the horn does not work. Charles

The generator shown above was used from 1929 to about March 1930, and has the output post on the front, so the wires connect to the rear of the cutout. After March 1930 the output stud was moved to the rear of the generator, so the output terminal on the cutout was moved to the front. No wires should be connected to the generator output stud.

O. K. So I will put both wires on the back because the out put stud is on the front of my generator. I will see if the horn works then. Thanks guys for your help. Charles
