thanks Fordman. I had already found that pic on the forum, was just hoping there would be more pics available. Last week I had ordered that color paint from TCP Global which was just shipped to me today, should be here in just over a week. I have the MAFCA Model A Ford paint & Finish guide book.
On a different thread someone had asked members to identify a color which looks to me like baby blue and quite a few members responded by saying they think it was the Niagara Blue Light. That got me second guessing, however it looks nothing like the true color of Niagara Blue Light as shown in the guide.

I plan on adding pics in the future to this thread after my A is painted and reassembled within the next two months.

Niagara Blue should have been called Niagara Green. You will be "shocked" if you are expecting blue paint.

The same goes with my "Gunmetal Blue", which looks green.

I just worked on a 28 tudor that was Niagara blue light body, Niagara blue dark top and upper back with Dutchess Blue reveals. Didn't take any pictures but the light definately had a green tint and what was surprising was the reveal color (Dutchess Blue) was very close in color to the Niagara Blue light but had more of a blue tint. The Niagara Blue dark looked almost black.

Check the May-June, 2000 issue of "The Restorer". My late 1928 Phaeton is on the cover, as well as in a few places in the restoration article inside the magazine. I used the same formulae for the Niagara Blue Light/Duchess Blue that the antique Ford restoration shop where I worked in the 1970's had been using on show cars since the 1950's. I think the two colors (as well as all of the formulae from that file) are pretty darned close to original, based on national convention show cars I have seen that are almost identical. I have the formulae for these two colors in PPG's Concept series single-stage paints if you need them.
I think one poster may have mistaken Niagara Blue Light for Gunmetal Blue, which he is correct in stating that the latter color does have a greenish-blue hue in the shadows. The NBL color, however, is definitely blue! I have a photo of my car from three years ago that I'll try to post here. Be aware that the contrast between the NBL and Duchess Blue can only be seen in certain lighting. It's not nearly as contrasting as NBL and NB dark.

Addendum -
Perhaps I should have said that the NBL is definitely blue, but the NB Dark MAY have greenish overtones. I only painted one or two cars 30 years ago that color and don't recall it being greenish, though. Remember also that original paints often shift hues over the years. Original Ford Maroon seen today on original surviving Model A's is virtually black!

If you look at any Town Sedans with the Andalusite Blue body with Niagara Blue Light reveals, it looks like turquoise.

Jim Mason - Is that original factory paint on your 28 Tudor ?, because it doesnt look like Niagara Blue Light as per the color chip sample in the MAFCA paint & finish guide. The paint chip samples in the book only show the Niagara blue light, Niagara blue dark, but there is no chip sample for the Niagara Blue. The paint charts lists all the Model A colors to all the models made for each year. The 28 Tudor was painted in Niagara Blue, but does not specify light or dark, so I would think they used three different colors of the Niagara Blue, that being light, dark and lets say a normal Niagara Blue.

I think you are reading between the lines, It was either "Light or Dark" also look in the J/S on the cars the colors were used..
