Default Oklahoma City Factory

Drove down to OKC over Christmas, made it to the Ford Plant, took some pictures of the interior, will post them as soon as I figure out how to do it.

It is a shame that more homage wasn't paid to the past history of the building. There is not even a plaque on the wall to tell you the story of Fred Jones.

Back in the 20's and 30's some of the Oklahoma small town Ford dealers would take orders for new cars, and when the cars were ready the salesmen would take two or three customers at a time to Oklahoma City to pick up there new cars and drive them home.

I remember driving up Classen and looking into the windows and seeing the V8 engines running down the line. I used to be a member of the Sooner Model A club, and Joe Brooks helped me with my first car, 28 Tudor, that was way back in the day.

I live in Shawnee OK, but work down in the city, Tinker AFB.
My Son works in the old Fold plant, Bldg. 9001, as it's known now.
OKC got the building from Ford, and then turned around and leased it to the Air Force for $1 per year.

hi Keith, went to Ada again over Christmas, did not have your phone number, the plant south of Tinker was the GM Plant, the Ford plant was/is on Classen and 1st street, my dad said that a company out of Memphis is buying up the Ford plants and converting them into condos/hotels., my dad owns a bunch of buildings in downtown OKC. Sorry I missed you on my trip to Ada. Left OKC Saturday morning and it was very icy in OKC on I35 from OKC to Stillwater, many wrecks, but made it back to Denver with not issues!
